Glorious Year-End Review: 2024 🎉

Dec 31, 2024

After years of procrastination, I finally decided to write a year-end review this year. I hope to maintain this habit in the coming years. Even Bhagwan Swaminarayan, in his Vachanamrut, emphasized the importance of writing a vanik nu naamu (a daily ledger of our actions). I’ve divided this article into two sections: professional and personal life.

Professional

This year, I decided to switch jobs as my work had become monotonous, and I felt I was getting too comfortable and lethargic. Leaving a company where I had worked for over five years was not easy, but stepping out of my comfort zone was worth it. The reward for hard work was sweeter than I had imagined.

Another major milestone this year was attempting the UPSC CSE prelims exam. It was a completely different and enriching experience. I learned a great deal about how the country functions, how our environment operates, and so much more. For anyone in their early 20s, I highly recommend giving this exam a try—it broadens your perspective in incredible ways.

I also launched my new website, ravivaniya.com, where I’ve started sharing my thoughts. On the technology front, I embraced AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and several others. These tools have significantly transformed the way I prepare for interviews and work within organizations. They’ve also challenged me to improve and match their pace.

Personal

Big update: I entered into a relationship in April! This has been a beautiful new phase of life, teaching me many things and changing my perspective on the world around me.

I explored Hyderabad, bid farewell to Gandhinagar, and returned to working from home at the end of the year. On a less positive note, I didn’t perform as well as I had hoped in the Satsang Sikshan Pariksha. However, I thoroughly enjoyed attending the Karyakar Suvarna Mahotsav this year.

Wishing you a very prosperous New Year!

Until next time,
Ravi
